These are nondenominational presentations open to everyone interested in how the mystic wisdom of the great spiritual teachers can enrich, deepen, and enliven our own spiritual journeys, here and now, in the 21st century.

One Prayer, One Practice

One Prayer, One Practice introduces the historical and cultural context for a new understanding of the Lord's Prayer in Jesus' native Aramaic language, and guides the audience into a shared vision of unity and an immediate, profoundly personal and community experience of Jesus's spiritual vision by speaking the Aramaic Prayer together, line by line, in Aramaic. (Available as a "Sunday message" or mini-talk)

Heaven Here and Now

In Heaven Here and Now, we explore several key words in the Aramaic Lord's Prayer to understand how Jesus thought of and related to the Divine, and thought of himself and humanity in relationship with what we call "heaven." This new context opens us to a more cosmic, empowered, here-and-now understanding of his spiritual vision and its meaning for our lives today. The audience is invited into an immediate, profoundly personal and community experience of speaking the Aramaic Prayer together, line by line. (Available as a "Sunday message" or mini-talk)

The Aramaic Way:Language and Prayerin Yeshua's World

Aramaic is the ancient language used by Jesus - known as Yeshua to his contemporaries - to convey his spiritual message to the people of his world. Jesus's actual words and prayer practice provide us with a powerful example to follow in our own deepening as women and men of God. Join us as we explore the mystical treasures of Jesus's own native language and experience the spiritual prayer traditions of his time.

  • We'll explore the historical and cultural context in which Jesus taught, and the impact this context has on how we understand his message today.
  • We'll work with chant, meditation, and the ancient practice of body prayer to experience what it was like to pray in Jesus's time.
  • And we'll explore the actual words Jesus used, in his native Aramaic, when he spoke with his followers - letting the sound and symbolic meaning open us to a more profound, intensely personal understanding of Jesus's spiritual wisdom and its meaning for our own lives today.

Through discussion, chant, meditation, and "body prayer," we will experience and explore the actual words spoken by Yeshua [Jesus], when he shared the Lord's Prayer with his followers. Let the richly symbolic and multi-layered meanings of Aramaic open the way to a deeper, more profound and personal encounter with Yeshua's spiritual wisdom and its meaning in your own life today. You will learn to speak the Aramaic Prayer yourself, line by line - and discover how the sound and meaning of Yeshua's Aramaic Prayer can bring new richness to your own spiritual practice.

The Aramaic Way:The Healing Light of the Beatitudes

Join us as we explore the language, historical and cultural context in which Jesus taught; reveal the mystical treasures of Jesus's message in his native language of Aramaic; and experience some of the spiritual prayer traditions of Jesus's world:


What was Jesus really saying when he addressed the multitudes in his Sermon on the Mount with his "Beatitudes" - the "blessed are" teachings? Much of the mystic richness of his message has been lost, obscured, or misinterpreted over the centuries. 

  • In this class, we'll examine the Beatitudes through the lens of the tumultuous, troubled place and time in which Jesus spoke, for a deeper understanding of who he was addressing and why he shaped his message as he did. 
  • And we'll delve into his native language, Aramaic, to excavate line by line the exquisitely mystical, profoundly practical and startlingly radical healing power hidden within these familiar words.
